Your information

Privacy Policy.

Understand what you share and how it is used.

Information you share

You may share account details such as your name, email address and profile information. Artists may also upload content such as music, artwork and other materials, and anyone may make purchases.

How information is used

We use the information you share to provide and improve the platform, process transactions, communicate with you and offer support.

Service providers

We work with service providers that help us operate the platform — hosting, payments, email delivery and analytics. They may access your information only to perform those services for us, and only on our instructions.

What artists receive about you

This one matters, so it's stated plainly rather than folded into the section above.

When you join an artist's mailing list or buy something from an artist on IndieHue, that artist receives your information — your email address, the name you gave, and a record of what you bought from them. Artists can export that information at any time. That is deliberate: artists own their audience here, and an audience you can't take with you isn't really yours.

The consequence is worth understanding. Once an artist has exported their supporter list, IndieHue cannot retrieve it, recall it or delete their copy. If you ask us to remove your information, we can remove it from IndieHue and stop the artist receiving anything further — we cannot reach into a copy an artist already holds. To have that copy removed, ask the artist directly.

Artists receive information about people who joined their list or bought from them. They do not receive information about people who simply visited a page.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any artist's mailing list using the link in the emails you receive from them, and from IndieHue's own mailing list the same way. You can ask us to remove your information at any time — see the section above for what that does and doesn't reach.

Data & retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the platform and for related purposes, such as keeping accurate records of transactions. Our final policy will describe retention periods in more detail and explain how to make requests about your information.
